To be internationally certified as a Mountain guide you have to first meet the very high leave of experience in all disciplines of Mountaineering and skiing to apply for the 3 to 4 year training and assessment course. Once you have pass all the courses you can obtained the ( IFMGA ) International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations certificate which is the highest award achievable in the outdoor industry. We strongly recommend you look out for the badge when hiring a guide.
The (BMG) British Mountain Guide Association & SBO Sweden are 2 of the 22 countries affiliated to the IFMGA. A British Mountain Guide is an expert in techniques and safety in the outdoor enviroment and are a very reliable companion for your adventure.
There are 2 types of the badges that are worn by IFMGA Mountain Ski Guides.
